Supply Chain Lead
Pandect is a dynamic and growing company which designs and manufactures bespoke slip ring assemblies, primarily the defence sector. We supply to customers worldwide for applications ranging from missiles, drones, fighting vehicles, radar and antenna systems to industrial and commercial test and manufacturing machinery. The position will be responsible for all Pandect procurement activities and managing and organising one direct report.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s procurement activities for materials, subcontracts, and services
- Formulate and implement purchasing strategies
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers/subcontractors to optimise savings
- Material procurement planning, in close collaboration with production
- Achieve better value on purchases to support competitiveness and profitability
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and issue resolution
- Visit existing and identify and visit potential new suppliers
- Ensure effective use of the ERP system for procurement activities
- Provide and maintain purchasing metrics
- Manage and provide leadership to the purchasing team
Requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Proven supply chain experience in electro-mechanical material and component procurement
- Excellent negotiating skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
- Ability to lead and motivate
- Experience in using ERP systems
- Strong communication skills and a team player attitude
- Proactive approach and ability to prioritise
- Excellent IT and presentation skills (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards related to procurement and supply chain management
- Knowledge of key performance indicators such as RFT, COPQ, OTD etc
Salary - Commensurate salary offered, based on abilities and experience
