Helicopter-Borne Winches

Slip rings for helicopter winches have a number of differences compared with ship-borne winches.

The winches  are lighter and they are subject to higher frequency vibration. Their life cycles are different too.

If the winch is used over land it is likely to need to have dust ingress protection and if used over the sea it will need protection from salt water spray – as with ship-borne winches.
