A slip ring module used for testing aircraft jet engines during flight is subject to operating speeds of 16,000rpm, temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C and shock forces of up to 20g. The speed poses unique challenges: keeping the brush wire in good contact with the v-groove and high rates of brush wear -which Pandect addresses by mechanisms for automatically lifting the brush wires off the groove surface when contact is not needed.
