To measure simultaneously
two mutually perpendicular components of a field, a matched pair
may be used.
If you wish to measure
a two-axis system, matched sets of four elements can be supplied.
These elements are used in
applications such as :
* direction indication
in the transmitting magnetic compass
* flaw indication in metals- physical characteristics of
metals (e.g. thickness)
* vehicle counting in traffic systems
* detection of dangerous metal particles in products
such as soap
* attitude and azimuth control in guided weapons
In principle there
are two windings, one receiving a small AC input current, the second
produces an output proportional
to the axial component of the magnetic field.
